I called all of the appropriate people today while waiting on the cable guy to show up. My advisor was first on my list, but he said he was the last step. Apparently I need to visit the Office of International Education to fill out all of their stuff first. Then, I get accepted into the program...then he gets to approve the classes for transfer. If you ask me that sounds a little backwards. Shouldn't I know that the classes will transfer before I sign up for the program? And you have to give them all of these non-refundable application fees. That doesn't make any sense to me. Before I plop down the money that I don't have I need to be sure that this is even going to work. I'm so confused.
I tried to make an appointment today with the International Education people, but the phones went straight to voicemail because they're moving office locations. So, I'll have to drop by their old office tomorrow while I'm on campus and hope to catch someone. Their recorded message tells me to go online and fill out an application, but those apps are only good for people who are going on the VCU-arranged trips. So, I filled out the application for CEA (except for the last part where it asks for your money). My CEA advisor (who I met at the Fair) called to say that she had seen my app and I just need to finish it up by the deadline so I will be eligible for their scholarships. Now...I have to write a 500-word statement of purpose for VCU's scholarship team. I sure hope I'm eligible for those...
